Title 1
Title I is a federally-funded program for students. These funds are used by Title I schools to provide extra educational services for children who need additional instruction to reach grade-level standards. Title I programs are based on three important ideas.
-
All students should work toward the same high standards.
-
Together, school districts, individual schools and parents decide how to use Title I funding to help students who require additional support to reach high standards.
-
Parents have the right to be involved in the design and operation of their schools Title I program. Parents also have a responsibility to help their children succeed in school.
