From Tracy Robinson, Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year.  I wanted to take the opportunity to share information about ACMS.  Our school opened the fall of 1994 and we were the first Middle School to open for the DCJESD.  We currently have 940 students in grades 6-8 on our campus.  There are  504 boys  and 436 girls.  To be a little more specific we currently have:

¨ 300 6th Grade students

¨ 333 7th Grade students

¨ 307 8th Grade students

Many of our students attended Antelope Meadows Elementary School, Olive Grove Elementary School, Barrett Ranch Elementary School or Dry Creek Elementary School.  After eighth grade our students move on to Antelope High School.  The diversity of ACMS  is also reflected in the number of English Language Learners who attend our school.  Currently, there are 152 English Language Learners who speak approximately 11 languages.  Some of the languages spoken by our students include Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish and Punjabi.

Our incredible staff includes 41 credentialed teaching staff members, six support staff (counselors, nurse and psychologist), four office staff members, five custodial staff members, six campus supervisors and five classified staff members.  Our teachers are highly qualified as noted by No Child Left Behind and have their CLAD certificate.  We have several team members who have been a part of the ACMS  family for twenty  years and we also have staff  who are new this year. Please visit our school Website at www.drycreek.k12.ca.us for a complete list of our amazing staff.

We are fortunate to have many involved parent and community members.  For example, over 525 parents/guardians attended our Back to School night. Our PTC is actively involved in planning school community events and activities help support our school.  Our first PTC meeting is on September 11th at 6:30 p.m.  We would also like to have parents involved in our District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC), GATE Advisory Committee and our Health Committee.  Please contact me at (916) 745-2100 if you are interested in being on any of these committees.  Please do not hesitate to give me a call if I can be of assistance.
